4-5 ripe tomatoes (chopped)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Fresh basil leaves (a handful, chopped)

1 pound pasta (spaghetti or your preferred kind)
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
